Why Rybread?
When Ryan Davis – owner and operator of Rybread Studio was just five years old his mother hung a used chalkboard in the room he shared with his sister. It’s purpose may have been to keep him from drawing on the walls, or simply to keep him and his sister occupied. But that chalkboard did much more for him than his mother ever imagined. That chalkboard gave him his first memories of the joy he feels every time I pick up pencil, brush, or mouse.
That chalkboard led him to receive highest honors in a high school Advanced Placement art program. It helped him to get his bachelor’s degree in Media Arts and Animation. It also helped him earn a Certificate of Excellence for his graduating college portfolio. On that chalkboard he began to learn skills that he now uses everyday—skills that are essential to creating artwork for companies such as the Adoption Exchange, Keller Williams Realty, and Utah Valley State College. That chalkboard gave him courage to start his own visual arts company.
Rybread is a nickname Ryan was given by his sister he shared the chalkboard room with. The hours spent drawing and the encouragement he got from her is really what lead him to his dream of running is own visual arts studio. |
